Private Pilot Course A program of 35 flight hours and 35 ground
training hours leading to the Private Pilot Airplane
Certificate. Virginia Aviation also provides Private
Pilot ground school that will satisfy the 35 hours of
ground training.

Private Pilot Preparation Course A 10 flight hour course designed to
prepare a student pilot for the Private Pilot airplane
check ride. Entering students must have completed at
least 30 hours of flight training before being enrolled.

Instrument Course A 35 hour flight course leading to an
Instrument Rating. Entering students must hold at
least a Private Pilot Certificate.

Commercial Instrument Course This course is designed to take the
Private Pilot in 155 hours of flight time from the Private
Pilot Certificate through the Single Engine, Instrument
and Commercial Ratings.

Commercial Preparation Course A 10 flight hour course designed to
prepare a pilot for the Single Engine Commercial
Certificate. Entering students must be instrument
rated Private
Pilots and have completed 240 hours of flight time before
enrolling.

Multiengine Course A 10-flight hour course designed to
prepare the pilot for the Multiengine Certificate.
Entering students must hold at least a Private Pilot
Certificate.

Flight Instructor Airplane Course A 25-flight hour course designed to
prepare a pilot to earn the Single Engine Flight
Instructor Certificate. Entering students must hold
a Commercial Pilot Certificate and an Instrument Rating.

Instrument Flight Instructor Course A 15-flight hour course designed to
prepare a pilot for the Flight Instructor Instrument
Airplane Certificate. Entering student must hold a
Flight Instructor Airplane Certificate.

Multiengine Instructor Course A 25-flight hour course designed to
carefully prepare the Pilot for the addition of a Multiengine
Instructor Certificate.
Entering Students must hold a Commercial Multiengine Pilot Certificate
with an Instrument Rating as well as a Certified Flight
Instructor, Single Engine, Land.

Airline Transport Pilot Course A 25-flight hour course designed to
carefully prepare the pilot for the ATP Certificate.
Entering students must hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate
with an Instrument Rating as well as having logged 1500
hours of flight time.

Airline Transport Pilot Prep.
Course A 10-flight hour course designed to
prepare an already proficient pilot for the ATP Practical
Test. Entering students must hold a Commercial Pilot
Certificate with an Instrument Rating as well as having
logged 1500 hours of flight time and be able to pass an
Instrument Proficiency Check prior to enrolling.

Aircraft Refresher Course A 7-flight hour course designed to meet
the requirements of the two-year flight review and the
Instrument Proficiency Check.

High Altitude Course A flight and ground training course
lasting four hours including a flight in a pressurized
aircraft above 25,000 feet. Pilots completing this
course receive a High Altitude Endorsement required to act
as PIC of a pressurized aircraft above flight level 250.

Turbine Aircraft Transition A ground and flight training course
consisting of 24 hours of ground training and 7 hours of
flight training. This course is designed to meet the
initial training requirement of most insurance companies.

Flight Instructor Refresher Course A two day, 16 hour classroom course
approved for renewal of your flight instructor
certificate (with any and all ratings). Offered
twice a year in the spring and fall. The renewal
date is the date of the course or for any of the
following 3 months. Certificates are issued by our
Chief Flight Instructor. |
